Chandigarh Administration and CREST — 9 sqm exhibition stall design at Solar Exhibition

Client: Chandigarh

Three printed bays do the talking: the largest project on the left with its own screen, the city story in the centre under the CREST and Administration marks, and the remaining schemes on the right. An orange band frames the whole opening and repeats on the fascia, the only strong colour here. A recessed ceiling panel with a yellow cove strip lifts the 9 sqm of this exhibition stall design at Solar Exhibition, and a glass table with two chairs sits in the middle.

Context

The Brief

This was a government stand, not a product one. Chandigarh Administration and CREST had 9 sqm and one open face to explain a city-scale programme — floating solar plants, rooftop schemes, land-locked capacity — to visitors who would give it half a minute. The exhibition stall design at Solar Exhibition had to carry a lot of information without turning into a noticeboard.

02

What We Designed

Three printed bays do the talking: the largest project on the left with its own screen, the city story in the centre under the CREST and Administration marks, and the remaining schemes on the right. An orange band frames the whole opening and repeats on the fascia, the only strong colour here. 03

Why It Worked

Small stands lose to their neighbours by being dim; keeping the ceiling lit and the frame orange meant this one held its edge. Visitors could read the headline claim from outside, then step in one pace for the project photographs. Officials and consultants used the table for the conversations that needed it, which is all a 9 sqm booth on one open face can be asked to do.
