Dviti Jewels — 24 sqm exhibition stall design at Vyapar Bazaar Ahmedabad 2024

Jewellery is bought at close range. Dviti Jewels needed people to stop, sit and put pieces on, which meant the 24 sqm corner could not be a walk-through — but it also could not look shut. Working inside a banquet hall with warm chandeliers overhead, the exhibition stall design at Vyapar Bazaar Ahmedabad had to hold its own darkness so the metal read gold.

Working inside a banquet hall with warm chandeliers overhead, the exhibition stall design at Vyapar Bazaar Ahmedabad had to hold its own darkness so the metal read gold.

Navy panelling wraps the outside of this exhibition stall design at Vyapar Bazaar Ahmedabad, so it reads as a dark box against a bright hall, with the logo in gold. The selling face is one long white counter with four stools, backed by a white wall of recessed ledges — the only pale surface, so hands and jewellery are the brightest things in view. A full-height portrait panel closes one end, and a lit glass vitrine holds velvet busts at the corner.

Four stools at a single counter set the pace: one person tries, three watch, and nobody is standing in an aisle. Against the navy the vitrine glowed, and it sat exactly where the two open sides met, so the pieces were the first thing seen from either direction. For a 24 sqm corner booth, that was the whole mechanism.
