bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026: Stand Planning When Your Exhibit Weighs Tonnes

Mehul — Director, Approach Media · 24 August 2026

Most exhibition advice assumes your product sits on a shelf. At bauma CONEXPO INDIA, your product might be an excavator. India's edition of the world's construction-machinery fair brings its own stall logic — and its 8th edition opens 15 September 2026 at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida.

Here's how machinery exhibitors should think about the stand, and a straight word on timelines this close to opening.

What machinery shows demand from a stand

The machine is the hero — build around it, not over it

Visitors come to see equipment. The stand's job is staging: clean sightlines to the machine, safe circulation around it, and lighting that makes steel look like engineering rather than inventory. The most common mistake we see at machinery shows is a stand that competes with its own exhibit.

Weight changes everything

A machine display isn't a design detail — it's a structural decision. Floor loading, ramp access, machine placement sequence (machines are usually positioned before the stall is built around them), and dismantling order all have to be planned with the organizer's logistics process. Your exhibitor manual governs machine move-in slots and weight declarations; miss those deadlines and your stand design becomes theoretical.

Height is your visibility weapon — used within the rules

Machinery halls are big-volume spaces where small stands disappear. Height — rigged banners, towers, double-height elements where permitted — is how mid-size exhibitors stay visible against OEM giants. Every bit of it needs organizer approval, and for double-deck structures the approval process is stricter and slower. (Our double-decker rules guide covers what gets submitted and why.)

Give the deal a place to sit

Construction equipment is a considered purchase. Buyers who inspect a machine want a table, a chair and a quotation conversation within ten steps of it. A semi-enclosed meeting area with power, storage and refreshments converts more than an extra display plinth.

The timeline, stated plainly

bauma CONEXPO opens in about three weeks from this article's publish date. Our standard comfort window for a full custom stall is six to eight weeks — so:

  • Complex custom or double-deck: the window has passed. A rushed structural build at a machinery show is exactly where corners must never be cut.
  • Disciplined custom scope: still possible — clean structure, strong lighting, one bold brand element, meeting space. Fewer material choices, tight sign-offs.
  • Planning for the next one instead? REI Expo and The Battery Show India run at the same venue on 22–24 October — that booking window is ideal right now. Here's the RIE + Battery Show guide.

Where we fit

We've built stalls across 9+ industries over 6000+ projects since 2002 — including stands designed around heavy and technical exhibits — with every build 100% mock-up tested in our 30,000 sq ft workshop before dispatch, and on-time delivery guaranteed in writing. Fixed-price quote, venue-specific.

## FAQ

When and where is bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026? 15–18 September 2026 at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida — the 8th edition, organized by Messe München's bC India joint venture.

How is a machinery-show stand different from a normal trade-show stall? The exhibit is heavy and arrives first: floor loading, move-in sequencing and safety circulation drive the design. The stand is staging for the machine, plus a place to close the conversation it starts.

Can I still get a custom stand built for bauma CONEXPO 2026? Three weeks out, a tightly-scoped custom build is possible; a complex or double-deck build is not advisable. Decide scope this week.

Do I need organizer approval for a tall stand or tower? Yes — height, rigging and any two-storey element require approval per the exhibitor manual, with deadlines earlier than standard submissions.

What does a stand at bauma CONEXPO cost? Custom design and fabrication in India runs ₹7,000–₹25,000 per sq metre depending on design — see the full cost guide. Machine display logistics are quoted per project.
